Biography

Whimsical word nerd.

Samples

Jezebel The world is crackling Erratic and chaotic as an old Scratched jazz record Cackling cacophonies of Drunks perch on bar stools Screeching raucously Squawking into their Liquor hysterical and sick As lascivious parrots A gloomy Jezebel clock- Watches, drifting in and out of Dark salacious fairy tales Where oily princes whose Hearts run cool and deadly as Contaminated streams Charm damsels in cheap Red stilettos who reek of Tobacco and anguish And morose, black eyed fairy Godmothers are wasted on Gin and misanthropy Painted mouths sagging like Sad clowns, cracked and cursing Beneath an indifferent sky The bored Jezebel idly Numbs herself on the stairwell Elusive and detached. Edge Aging tulips bow their Crisp oxblood heads Like dying embers An elegant silver blade Anxiously points toward The obsidian window Frail with disappointment I stagnate by the sink An inert phantom Surrounded by walls. Aftermath I feel the bitterness of strangers Pithy and unkind Mossy-fingered trees point accusingly From pits of dull green glass Broken, lacking clarity My shattered mind clumsily meanders In an acrid aftermath of fag ash and Fetid wine like some sort of neurotic acrobat Another weekend spent Smashed moribund harridan Corybantic daffodils shout like gaudy old strumpets Who have strayed beyond the rubicon I listen to the cawing crows Invoking the sun and will it in unison.

Word nerd, eh? That's the only way to be in the poetry scene, if you really mean business, and I think you do. I believe good poetry is commitment to the power of words and the skilful 'manipulation' of this power. I wonder if by 'whimsical', you mean 'imaginative, innovative'? I really look forward to more of your work.

ginsberg yes! i love the beats, especially Kerouac. reading 'on the road' was quite a transformative event in my life.howl is wonderful, especially read live (harder to get on board on paper but live you get the sense more of the breathing and the rhythm of the piece). and yes, bukowski is a huge influence. he had the knack of being interesting enough that when he wrote about mundanity it became interesting. that is what we are all striving for in my view.
