A delve into the mind of a burglar during the coronavirus crisis
I used to make a good living before coronavirus came along,
But like everyone else I must adapt and stay strong.
I am a burglar and times are tough,
Been kicked out of my house and sleeping rough.
Houses are fully occupied due to the lock down,
My livelihood has been ruined I sadly frown.
Helicopters in the air to catch us flouting the law,
I look for something else to keep breaking the law.
Two metre distancing ,pick pocketing is a no go,
Government support for burglars is definitely a no no.
I might turn to shoplifting for bog rolls and pasta,
But the shelves are empty I could face disaster.
I may be able to burgle the old, vulnerable and weak,
But I might catch the virus and my future could be bleak.
I used to burgle this house once every year,
But I cannot do that now I sadly fear,
Jesus came into the owners life,
Jesus is a Rottweiler,I had to run for my life.
I came back to my shed one day and sadly discovered,
I'd been burgled by a colleague,but I swiftly recovered.
He could have stollen more ,I could have been blighted,
But he only stole two lamps I was de-lighted.
I burgled a police station once and stole a posh toilet seat,
I got away with it ,the police had nothing to go on,had to stand on their feet.
My friend is a burglar and forced to work from home,
Kicked his own door down, his wife didn't half moan.
It is scandalous there is no support for burglars in these hard times,
When lockdown comes to an end I can carry on comitting crimes.
