The Virus comes home

The Virus comes home

The alarm bells of anxiety rang cruelly and loudly

as the pandemic reached into the heart of my family

No longer was it a statistic but a personal tragedy and reality

so tenuous is life, not knowing the hour or the day

I raced around in my confused mind

looking for what could not be found

Messages passed to and fro to offer prayers and support

but then I stopped as activity offered nought

In silence I sat to view my garden clothed in winter's grey

and then into this silence I heard a still small voice of calm say

Come to me all who are overburdened and I shall give you rest

I then yeilded all my anxiety to he who knows what is best

and placed my hands into his healing hands

whose power reigns over all the lands

Really impressive piece of writing! Describes so well what is happening to so many,(too many) families, going from the first shcoked reaction, tring to find some comfort and reassurance, then yielding your anxiety .............. Hope that the 'healing hands' can work for you and yours.

The last four lines of this poem are so good, I was over the anxiety caused by the tragedy of the virus hitting your home, my prayers for you, and yours Pat.

Times of torment make us measure and treasure what we believe in.
This poem has all of that in it.

I'm sorry that you have had the circumstances to create this poem. I wish the world could have found a solution, long before, to prevent the loss and the grief of you and everyone else in similar situations .
