Cause' I wanted you to Love me and you didn't - and I gave so much of myself up for you.

You Loved me the best way you knew how but your eyes always so distant

I thought what I needed was being given but I strained and begged and searched for some committment

Cause' I wanted you to Love me and you didn't

I gave so much of myself up to you and so much tearfall too

Bearing the weight of your burdens and my own too, hoping all this hard work, all of my committment would mean something to you but you ended up letting me fall even after all of my devoted time spent 

Cause' I wanted you to Love me and you didn't

Never did you say you would never leave me, never did you say you would hold me up high, never did you tell me no one would hurt me.

Wanted you to Love me like that and you didn't

Looking back perhaps I was the fool, creating a commitment that wasn't there outside of a loyal relationship

There was trust, there was truth, there was friendship but forgetfullness of my soul, my body given - God it makes me cry, I created lies

You Loved me the best way you knew how, wanted to Love me but I wonder if that when you struggle to Love yourself you could ever Love me

You just didn't know how and it still breaks my heart now
