All poetry

has been quarantined

there will be no poems or rhymes

nothing

involving words or thoughts

since poems cannot

wear masks

the risk is just too high

a poem could appear

and then all the rest

of the words would be infected

we can't have poems

spreading uncontrollably for god's sake

poems could wreak havoc

on our society

pull people away from their screens

keep your distance

avoid contact

there is no vaccine for poetry

stay safe.
