'Can I Come With You'

'Can I come with you' is what I said.
As you lay motionless on your bed.
Through tear filled eyes I couldn't see.
My tears fell not for you, but for me.

As you were now in a better place.
But without you a future I have to face.
In an empty room, just me and you.
I held your hand and I kissed you too.

Tender messages I said in Mums ear.
'There's nothing now you have to fear'
I said goodbye and stroked Mums hair.
My heart was broken beyond repair.

Brave to the end, now at restful sleep.
Now Heaven bound, in God's safe keep.
'Can I come with you' I said once more.
I blew one more kiss as I closed the door.

Mike,
a poem highly charged with the emotion of sadness and a deep sense of loss. Sensitively and well described. May she be at eternal peace.
Thank you for this
