A QUIET PASSION
Almost by accident whilst browsing among films available on Amazon, I discovered the DVD of the
film "A Quiet Passion", featuring the story of the American poet Emily Dickinson. The writer/direcfor
Terence Davies was known to me from other films he'd completed and that was enough to persuade
me to buy a copy. That - and, of course, the subject and content. It is a moving, finely written account
(which I mentally sub-titled "Rebel Without A Pause"), of a woman of fiercely independent mind and
spirit who became famous for her poetry in America and beyond..
The production is full of quality, not least in the acting and the photography that succeed in drawing
the viewer into the tale being told. Poets should seek it out and enjoy!!
Just thought you should know - OK?

Thanks MC, I will watch this! You should be a film reviewer as well as a poet 😀
