Stupid crows

entry picture

Above the green grass,
against the blue sky,
below the grey clouds,
two black crows
thuggishly mobbed another,
an albino,
chasing, harassing,
bully-banishing

"Leave him alone," I shouted
"Stupid birds, he's only another crow.
Can't you see the world is coloured?"

"You should talk", croaked a crow.
"Yeah, your lot do it", said the other.
"Maybe", I said, embarrassed,
"But we're trying to stop."

"Of caw-se you are," sniggered one.
"Caw blimey, I should say so," said the other.

"We really are trying," said I, quietly,
turning away.

Neat little analogy, Dave, reeking hot chilli. IMO, we humans display, in unguarded moments, tendencies just as vicious. Was there in your mind any reference to the derogatory 'Jim Crow'? Just curious.

I think a lot of animals display these tendencies. I remember someone telling me about a swan that was totally ignored by the rest of the birds on the lake because it had something wrong with its wing.
Humans can be bad, but I think that as a whole we are one step up from this.

That's funny - I was going to write a poem about crows too! I've never seen an albino one. I hope he/she survived!
