entry picture

Write Out Loud’s southern-based newsman, Greg Freeman, is planning to attend Write Out Loud Wigan on Thursday at the Tudor House hotel, on 8 May, to check out this famed open mic, spoken word night. Freeman said: “I’ve heard for years about the wonders of Wigan, and feel a visit has been long overdue.” The journalist is planning to gather photographic evidence on the night, and  also aims to visit The Spoken Word at York and Dewsbury rail station buffet during his whistlestop tour of the north. The fun starts at Wigan, where entry is free, at 8.30pm. More details and Map

They said it was quieter than usual at the Tudor tonight, and maybe it was. But I saw and heard enough to conclude that this is indeed a marvellous mix of the warm-hearted, and the irreverent, if not downright rude! Good, too, to meet so many Write Out Loud friends in the flesh. Hopefully, I'll be able to write much more later today.
