I lived my life that way
For many years I rode the waves
Head down, racing for the shore
I lived my life that way
But now, I wade in the shallows
Lifting stones, catching crabs
Feeling the sand between my toes
The sun on my face.

Fantastic! & would make a great tattoo...Jeff...
I think the brevity adds so much to the content and its
purpose. Excellent.

Yes..simple and effective. It puzzles me how much time is wasted through haste. The best advice I ever received--"never hurry".
And, the idea of "lifting stones" leaves so much to imagination..

A perfect analogy with age and its views from the benefit of looking back. So simple and effective.

Thank you for the kind comments.
I picture an islander, a surfer that may not be able to surf again but still finds a way to enjoy the sea. But i know when I read it again a new image will come to life.

Hi Hazel, this captures the notion of mindfulness so well. Paul
very nice. short and powerful.
Love it Hazel.
Captures the ebb and flow of life beautifully ... and succinctly.
