Acceptance

To accept that hope's gone in the eyes of despair
And to succumb to fear that the end has been reached
Magnifying the lens of the firewalls breached
Huddled up in corner, facing the last ensnare

Taking the punishment for the capital crime
And burning at the stakes for the family ride
To lead them forever as axis or allied
Belonging unity at this challenging time

Fear not the worst outcome but the moments that cringed
As the trail was crumbling from the rustling of feet
Burying it to fade into background mistreat

Yet through all of this pain, the door became unhinged
Leaving the opening to escape the madness
As the shelter gets rocked by a flooding sadness
