NIGHT SUPER VISION

Why don't you leave us discarnate souls

alone in the dark of night to play

with the dreams we lived and are stuck with now?

We're happy in our misery,

happy to sleep throughout your day

at night to live in mystery.

That's when you come with all your tackle

to prove our existence as if we care

to be revealed in your screwed up world.

All you seek is to have a cause,

we're just the effect that gives you pause,

and a nice little shudder, a psychic smell

to fit inside your sense of hell.

Go back to your dear ones, let them care

for all the worldly goods, and stare

in the mirror to prove your bright existence

while we are truly dearly free

in our apocalyptic misery.

nice one Ray - reminds me of a kiddies book I used to read to mine called Ghost Train about 3 ghosts looking for a new place to haunt. It had hologram illustrations too. They were a jolly trio of ghouls not so much afflicted with apocalyptic misery like yours. Col.

How many times I've wanted to say that, and couldn't find the words...

It's just a side note and maybe has little to do with your intent, but when he was somewhere around 11, my younger brother was diagnosed with a form of leukemia.

I grew up in the bible belt here in the US where you couldn't throw a science textbook without knocking some ridiculous holy roller upside his brainwashed head. Anyhow, my brother was hospitalized during the early stages of his diagnosis and I remember a small group of them coming through the door to his room, offering to pray for him.

I feel so fortunate that my Dad was there, because he promptly told them that they could pray all they wanted, only somewhere else--no fear-mongering allowed.

That's it, Ray. Funny how the right combination of words can trigger such a myriad of memories--they all mean different things to each of us.
