JUST BY THE FLYOVER
Just by the flyover
empty office blocks wait for life
decked with wild flowers
around their base, an afterthought
finding cracks,
a hopeful assertion.
Like giants aloof, swarming up
from the uncaring ground
they have no part to play
in this excitation of decay.

I love that Leicester reference David. Perhaps some thickhead soothsayers are now saying that freeways are not pathways, at least not to the soul. (Proper job references please). It is good that they should go though and let the sky breathe easier. Check out the dystopian world of JG Ballard (Crash) Full of that atmosphere.
