Social Media. Swimming Pools. Toddlers. A Deadly Combination
Social Media. Swimming Pools. Toddlers.
A Deadly Combination
Preamble
My writings range from serious to comic. This one however is deadly serious. The videos at the end make my point.
Parents are meant to be actively
Supervising their toddlers in pools
Instead they are watching social media
On Iphones, to which I do say “You fools”
Children are drowning from this practice
Parents, what do you value more?
Facebooking you're friends while you're basking?
Or making sure that your child reaches four?
It takes only 20 seconds for a child
To drown (they don't know how to stop)
A lapse in supervision's the main cause
As they can't stop themselves, and so drop
Children are attracted to water
They just want to play round and frisk
It angers me seeing parents socialising
On media, putting children at risk
The moral of my verse is quite obvious
Don't trawl social media at pools
Your child's more important (or should be)
If you do, then I'm sorry, you're fools
Just think of the future, you parents
If you lost your own child doing this
Could you live with yourself for a lifetime ?
And burying your child with the wish...
you had never been socialising....

These videos are disturbing and say exactly what I'm trying to say. Never be distracted with social media when supervising toddlers. The consequences could haunt you for the rest of your life. The first is mute, probably for good reasons

The message is well suited to verse and mothers should be
obliged to keep a copy taped to their mobiles.
