Fishing For Sympathy

I must admit I love to fish

have only hook and pole

the only thing I usually catch

is congestion and a cold

Back in the day I caught a fish

a grand fish to behold

turns out it was someone else's fish

on which my hook took hold

I told my wife I fought a fish

the fish would not let go

turns out my story was dismissed

when truth was finally told

Still to fish, I can't resist

what myths rise from sea foam

but if I fish, she now insists

I clean what I bring home.
