It sped away

the word I needed

in a matter of seconds

it was gone

now I can't think

of what the word was

and worry that this is

the onset of something else

the word will probably be up

on the freeway by now

heading north at 80mph

it's bad when words take off

and get away from you

leaving you in the dust
