What do I write
To increase comment?
Write doom and gloom?
Or fun I want sent?
There seems so much written
About doom and gloom
I prefer laughter
Brightening the room
But...
Seems I could risk
Losing comment
Despite it's my laughter
I want to see sent

It's interesting when I reflect back on writing this. At the time I seemed to think doom and gloom was getting the comments and laughter wasn't. I wanted to bring brightness to the site.
OK, comments are nice but let's face it we basically write for ourselves. But now we have the internal tug-of-war. Cathartic verses the need to be recognised and appreciated.
I'm a Spike Milligan type character. We both went to the same School of Silliness...oh, I've told you this already. Poor Spike - "I told you I was ill" - they thought it was a joke - he then up and died ?

Ha Don. You made me giggle. I can only write about what I'm dwelling on in the moment and don't stop to think how it will be received. Something goes on a loop in my brain and it won't stop until it comes out. It's interesting to have comments but irrelevant for me as the act of penning is cathartic. That said, thank God I have a day job though.... ?
