cellular automata

i found a single seashell alone in outer space

engraved with  ancient language

i climbed into the wash of its vacuum

rest my head against the smooth inner wall

closed my eyes, let it drift towards so much nothing

a billion years of starlight warmed my blood

and this is how i learned to love, upon the letting go

Fabulous as always Stu. You have once again managed to capture something of beauty with such few words. As David says it brightens the day

I almost see the foetus from 2001 Stu. This is lovely and a sort of blend of SF and philosophy wrapped up . It has that disturbing quality that marks you out ; what appears comforting may be the opposite in a sense.

Thrilling stuff.
