As You Walk The Road
(Written for a friend)
Share the words at the core of your soul,
Without fear, so all can hear,
Only this outpouring will allow you to be whole,
So speak bravely my friend, speak clear.
To hell and be damned all those that disapprove,
They don't have to carry the burden of your load,
You must speak with your heart if you're ever going to move
The hearts of your fellow travellers on this road.
Accept that as we walk it many paths will cross,
Some journeymen may even try to join you to it's end,
Give thanks for their company and when they leave accept the loss,
But know that some will stay, the ones that you call, "Friend."
So speak bravely my friend, from the core of your soul,
Tread proudly, don't allow your footsteps to be slowed,
Know that in this test, "You are no-one's second best!"
Just the best that you can be as you walk the road.

Hi Jason! Beautiful poem, and agree your friend is lucky. So often so-called friends are not available when needed.
