After he'd walked out

she wailed

she wept

she moaned

she sobbed

she groaned

she despaired

she cried

she shrieked her pain aloud

to everyone and anyone.

 

With time her friends became

a little deaf and griefproof

sympathy running low.

Started saying 'Oh come on

he was a dead loss anyway

you're better off without the asshole

pull yourself together woman'

and more along those lines.

 

So she decided to  surprise them and react

choosing a branch of the great tree

where vandal-like they'd carved their initials

using, alas, wire found in the barn

not good old fashioned hemp

result - she pulled herself apart instead!

 

The super-glue used by the  undertakers

glad of the chance to show their skill

was amazingly effective.

They held the funeral yesterday

and the mourners all remarked on

the lovely triple-string black pearl choker

given as departing present by remorseful friends.

 

Hemp is often indispensable.
