SEARCHING AND FINDING

We'd like to be the jigsaw piece

that fits into the bigger picture

making sense of pointlessness

to make another life complete.

There's wonder in it, how it works

your future designed with that in mind

yet  it happens often without a plan

when you fold the fingers of another's hand.

Sadly puzzles being what they are

back in a box you go at last

leaving a memory on the cardboard horizon,

a picture to treasure if so you choose

with views of intimate spaces shared,

the pleasure of completeness when someone cared,

Lying back in touch with life

touched by love on every side.

Thanks Jennifer, appreciated point. To be assimilated is maybe to lose some identity, but hey, that's part of the deal sometimes.

Really liked this one Ray. Clever idea to use the jigsaw. The awful thing is when the vital piece which completes it, in every sense is not there!

Thanks for the likes, Rachel, Jane and Afishamongmany.

Yes David. some more deep ponderings with a cardboard backdrop - just like to add a bit of the surreal to these big considerations ! Great clip thanks. Such an original performer.

Thank you Chris, glad that worked for you. Came out in a rush.

A very astute point Martin. Ways of contending with we what we have and trying to adapt can give substance to life as well as being a challenge.

The fact is that with every puzzle piece there is a place for that piece to fit. but we end up spending so much time trying to find where we fit we all too often end up putting ourselves back in the box. I feel that it is as much up to the other pieces to help and show the way to the missing pieces. The other sad option is we feel the cut of the knife to cut off the parts that don't fir to make us fit. I had better stop now as I feel I could go on and on....

none the less it should not detract from the fact this is a great analogy Ray

love the poem

Really like that last part of the cardboard horizon, well stated.
