when
old men find out
they really do not matter
their own kids
have discovered
they don't have to listen anymore
times have changed
yet old men do not
so they become irrelevant
once they were thought of as infallible
now they are considered
just old fools
they have outlived their usefulness
their position usurped
their importance diminished
at best an afterthought
old men who live too long
should have known
they should not complain
they should just gotten out of the way.
Ha! I've reached the age (and the stage in life) when I don't care if I "matter". I'm content to know that I HAVE mattered and provided an
important relevance to the lives of others. Old men should offer
stability and common sense guidance whilst looking after their own
well-being for as long as nature lets them and the grim reaper stays
the hand that holds the scythe that mows us all down in time.
Save me from the trendies and the perennially immature.,,of which
there seems to be an egregious fearful excess in this modern age.
You maybe think I'm past it
Gone past me use-by date
But let me tell you matey
Not gonna lie, stagnate....?
