Vision

I see a world where men will hold opinions,
and yet they can agree to disagree;
a world that will address the dying millions,
instead of the pretence we cannot see.
I see a time when wars are just in stories,
or histories about the years gone past;
when we will not reflect on martial glories,
but celebrate the peace and make it last.

I see a world when neighbours know each other
and are prepared to help when times are hard;
despite our quarrels yet we call them brother,
and come through every dialogue unscarred.
I see a time when all the starving millions
are fed instead of wilfully ignored;
when greed is not the base of our decisions,
and common decency will be restored.

I see a world where sickness is defeated,
and man enjoys good health through all his days.
I see a time when no one is untreated
But diagnosed and cured without delays.
I see a dream where nation speaks to nation,
without the rancour of the recent past.
I see a time when dreams defeat frustration,
and from these dreams a vision that will last.

Thanks guys. Yes, I know its a Utopian dream, but we can aspire, even as we put up with all the crap life throws at us.

Yes, it is a beautiful vision as Vautaw says Trevor. But a vision is all it is and will ever be.

We all know a prefect world will never exist. We can do things to improve it but that's about all........

Us poets can wax lyrical but we will not change a thing......
