My grandmother (uneducated, ancient and Scottish) learned Russian in her 60's just so she could recite Pushkin to me on her knee. I never understood a word of it...but it sounded lovely...full of ssshuushes and pssschisshes. Worked for me!

:)

Hi Barrie! Just noticed your entry, sorry-still getting used to this site., its "lost in" pretty much ( like all Russian sound rows, for example) but its got some new ideas and some of them I find interesting.. I ve got a lot work to do with translating my poetry but I am enjoying it so far. Its hard work through..

REVELATION 2
I am very bad at 'getting' other people's obscurity (love my own of course) but I found some really nice linguistic touches. I gather you do your own translation, so the question arises: "How much is lost in?" (:o)

I have heard you reading a few times and really enjoy. Russian sounds beautiful and I think that it is a passionate language in the way it sounds. I studied Russian cold war politics and would love to travel there.

"And even shattered schick of shelter ..I’m
Half blooded card of subdivided suit!"

love the 'shattered shick' idea.
Would like to see more readings from you sometime.

I liked the idea of a paper boomerang. Wish I'd thought of that. Welcome

Petrograd is a Russian version of Petersburg. It was renamed when Russia entered the First World war.. We didn’t want anything sounds German and Petersburg is a German name, burg- city. Bolsheviki can burn in hell as much as I care.. Ask me why and I tell you a point of view of a Russian historian who lived thorough the Soviet era..

Hi Natasha
If you look in the top right hand corner of the Home Page, you will see 'Make Blog Entry'. This will bring up a section where you can add your poem(s).
Hope this helps
Steve M.
