outcast
pretty enough but the story's too long. Everyone has a place but I feel like I don't belong. The people always stare, the people always talk. But in my shoes, I know they could never walk. Sauntering around trying to keep my head high but on the inside, it hurts I cannot lie. Try not to show it, try not to get mad. If you were me for a day you'd see why I'm so sad. You'd see the pain, past, and th...

A darker shade of grey
I sit here and think without a blink
you fill my memories old
my stale tears, stained to grey
the once beautiful now in decay
Our garden in ruins
our bright red roses
petals dry

The Upside Down Girl
Her skin is pale in the early evening
hanging upside down
from the foot of an unmade bed
feeling weightless
watching the world beyond the window
where Autumn rain falls upward
and lights divide
No appetite in this dark room
no appetite for days
friends all kept at bay
no rubber masks, just patches of ice
no fireworks, only fallen leaves collecting
passing headlights flood the room

Father
You ask if I believe in God...
How can I not?
To deny my Father
means I leave my existence
to some 30 year old predator
who impregnated a girl half his age
and left her to raise their child
in the wilderness, among wolves
that feed on loneliness and despair.
Without my Father, I would never know
that after suffering comes deliverance,
pain leads to compassion,
forgiveness breaks b...

Poetry Understands
Poetry understands
walking dead,
monsters under the bed,
voices in your head.
Poetry understands
wounded souls,
storms, walls,
severed rainbows.
Poetry understands
broken hearts,
rainy days, lonely nights,
moon light.
Poetry understands
star-crossed love,
hopeless romances,
second chances.
Poetry understands
twin flames
guilt, shame,
the blame game.

Depression
Eyes don't bring sleep and comfort..
Nights are long and engulfing as an avalanche
Days devoid of fervor, just drifting from one to another..
Mind plays pain and sorrowful notes in a never ending track..
Unrelenting tears brings no solace but just a barren, blank state..
Strong urge to let go surfaces like a gust of waves
Not a flicker of hope to keep the spirit alive
Dreary dull momen...

The hypothesis
I panicked today.
The reality of my mortality hit me.
I believe in reincarnation, this manifestation isn’t the end.
But the finality of my current reality,
stirs a new uneasiness in my soul.
I Panicked today.
How could my soul ever survive
without you by my side,
The custodian of my heart,
in new life torn apart,
incomplete, unable to be one.
I...

The Void
Hey there lonely girl,
what are you doing wandering around
these dark places?
Don’t you know that
evil lurks about?
The void is littered
with those who will use you,
abuse you,
scar your soul for eternity.
Listen to my pleas,
I’m begging on bended knees,
move forward
towards the light,
no matter how tempting
the mysterious
shadows may be.

Soul Scars
There you are beaming
at everyone you meet
posting highlights,
keeping it together.
But, I see your soul scars...
loneliness, heartbreak,
disappointment, addiction,
depression, despair...
It's enough to turn
most souls to dust.
But not us.
Diamonds are made from
coal under pressure.
Show your scars,
keep the faith,
and shine on.
