Wedding Day

Stood alone
grounded by grey rock
papoosed tight in your arms
an altar before the Atlantic
commanding, tumulus ocean

Thick damp walls are constraining me

Shrouding, chilling my pale virgin skin

Irrelevant and small

Amongst the crowd
She never noticed me
Not one glance
But she was all I could see

waiting for the day that you finally come home.

Destined for greatness

yet thwarted by gravity and quicksand

...
