rival of Mars

When I say I love,
I mean
I fall in
whole,
swallowed up,
while it licks
its lips.
I am
human ruins
in
a wild man's fire.
The last fallen leaf,
victim of
a strong storm's breath.
The empty lungs
of a collapsed truth.
The drained ocean
lost in paradise.

I am
the bloody gurgle
of a war cry.

Everyone's A Winner

'Awake', 'Snowflake'.
every line with it's rhyme
saved up to flourish at the end.
Then the crocodile passing the lollipop lady:
'Limp', Lazy' and 'Loitering'
a select congregation
branded with a cipher on the head.
And once commonplace
the dragon and the unicorn
now only haunt castle ruins.
When they pass a fallen wall
I clap my hands with childish glee.
Sadness also deepens-
dr...

Spanish Guitar

She leapt into my lap
embraced in the familiar way.
Oceanic depths of music
dissolve walls and hours
as in a dream.
Bowed in silence before a song
Columbus in the old world
held her beauty's siren.
All so real then
where does such love go to die?

"You could bring her back. I think you should."
There's a long explanation but who needs it?
Sforzando my response:
"Yeah. Right. Gr...

a wave passed along the centipede's legs

She
was married one day
before a jealous rival
killed her husband.
And so it was
her fate to enter the flames
of her husbands pyre.

Her sisters prepared her
as they might for a birth,
urging her to redouble her strength.
The implacable sun rose
and with a show of gaiety
they walked her to the place.

Foreign explorers pulled her from the flames
just in time and at the cost o...

Work In Progress

Only because keeping still
as beloved photographs
wouldn't do, they laboured on.

Their desire's simulacrum moved
across gold sands ahead-
not everyone approved.

Not everyone agreed, not everyone believed,
worried over motes in the eye
while whipping up a storm.

Here we were born, as this old world
bid its interminable farewell,
a bird taking to a vast blue sky
fading like the ...

The Deontologists

She had that dream again:
Solution found! Everyone celebrate!
Thus, supremely happy, she awoke.
But walking the boundary
that could not be crossed,
the leaf and flower carrying stream
disappeared into the ground.
As seconds passed the precious discoveries
she'd recorded reverted to indecipherable code.
Look now to eager friends approaching-
but tricks of light and shadow.
She was crue...

Silence

Perhaps I'm too exhausted to hear the words whispered upon the winds

Keep to myself, keep to myself,

Don't look, don't look,

Sores freshly ripened need time to heal, sticks and stones will break my bones

And words can shatter souls.

Not everything is about you

How would I handle denial of articles forged from my heart?

Keep to myself, keep to myself,

Don't look, don't look,...
