A Night At The Astoria
By concrete honey-combed Centre Point
Briskly paced towards Soho
Passing illuminated tooting taxis
Striding down the Charing Cross Road
To join a queue of alternatives
Outside the stuccoed dome crowned bay

From Where I Sit: Music and Movement
A small flock of unidentified birds
flies into the skeleton trees
and disappears.
What magic is this?
Smoke from the boiler-house chimney,
at the mercy of the fickle wind,
blows this way and that, confused
unstopping, white, following the music
of Mozart's violins: moving, then still
- a crescendo starts to build -
- falls away to keen -
- a lull -

Fusion
When I hear this music
I think of you
Crashing through my senses
Like a thunderstorm
Painting colours inside my eyes
I do not know you
I do not know myself
Things are changing
Beyond my control.

Backstage riders take the piss!
Clipboard says an item’s amiss
The schedule’s tight; he’s been up all night
Too late to get it to the concert site!
Budgets are exceeded; the helipad’s all booked
Dressing rooms are ready; just hope it’s overl...

The Long Player
Here is old poem idea I've had for ages about favourite album titles and the feelings that the music of each inspired in me at the time. My old vinyl records - nostalgia. You've got to guess the artists. It's not laid out in a poem style fro a reason, and that's becasue a design friend of mine some years ago formatted (God knows how) into a circular text shaped as an LP. It just needed a lable...
