Agapanthos, The Flower of Love

Well, that time of the year has arrived with all the cheesy cliches that surround the execution of a Catholic saint Valentine-what a strange way to celebrate a loved one?

So high entranced am I with thee
That naught else do I barely see
So being blind to this romance
My heart it soars and starts to dance.
- Is happiness returning?

So beloved of me art thou
That I still love you eve...

Valentine's Day-Another Massacre-Another Dollar

β€œMade in Britain”, once a mark of highest quality,

To Gaza, with love, we send white-hot death from above,

Cruel Britannia stoops to utter depravity.

Smitten (A Sonnet)

He was smitten with love for her;
by that arrow deep and sure.
A gooey warmth between them;
filling the heart all within.

But, love's shaft festered, stinking foul;
to gangrenous, aching howl.
Through steamy glass his love moaned;
as he stood outside alone.

Those barbs cannot be reversed;
holding fast in a soul feeling cursed.
Longing for the lost one gone,
to the breast of a differ...

Valentine's Day

February 14th is Valentine's Day
So a poem I thought I would write,
To explain about love and how to find
Mister or Mrs Right.

For some, love happens instantly
After meeting for the first time,
Heart skips a beat, butterfly effect
These feelings inside! Oh sublime.

But let's take a moment to ponder
About love and Valentine's Day,
A day when you show your true fee...

Paper Hearts

Paper hearts don't beat

They tear

Of Valentine's?

He was not aware

All she wanted

Was a rose of red

But spending money

Brought him dread

She rolls her eyes

And looks above

As he tells of how

She has his love

These words sound

Empty

Said without cost

That was the day

Her love

He lost

Then came the 14th day

Of Feb

A new lover she found

U...

Stupid Cupid

I see you lurking about
making him say
sweet nothings
to lure me out.

This time
I am being smart,
walling off
my broken heart.

Using your
flaming arrows
to paint the sky.

Let the world know
you are really
not a nice guy.

You are a trickster
who makes girls cry
with your stupid lies.

My schooled soul
knows the truth
betrayed.

Romantic love
is an illusion,
pas...

The Gate

By : Ali Taha Alnobani

Yesterday she invited me to see the moon in her garden
The wind tried to prevent me
Although I was sad, I walked under the rain
The gate was full of small doors and small cats were looking at me
Their shining eyes told me the tale of my baby
One night she was looking at the moon,
But a big cat with shining eyes got her dreams broken.

One Night I Stole a Purple Balloon

One Night I Stole a Purple Balloon

One night I stole a purple balloon

From a cheaply decorated nightclub

I was pissed out of my mind so it looked pretty

And taking it seemed a good idea.

When I tied it up at home

Like a child decorating for a birthday party

I did not expect it to be there for long: balloons

Tend to run out of air or escape when you lo...
