Vultures Fly

Vultures fly in perfect circles

and pretend we believe

they are white doves

bringing us peace

Foul-smelling scavengers

disguised as prominent politicians;

illiterate statesmen or authentic literati,

that never attended a single seminar

or even stepped in a University

but surely received and will show with much glee

their hard earned honorary doctorate degree

This Is Today

It is not a fable or a fairy tale,

even a child could understand my plea

that is why I speak loudly and vehemently

I am outraged to see

how those who wield power,

supported by uniforms and boots

see us as nincompoops,

weaving narratives of a distorted history

as if nothing had been there

Their very accommodated stories

build paper monuments to their heroes o...

Imago Dei

Are you there?

I pray to you each and every night in despair,

Yet they remain unanswered as if you do not care.

I sink solely in my thoughts,

As heartache floods through my veins.

Suffocating and feeling distraught,

Trapped and stuck in these emotional chains.

My life has come to that of which only you can intervene.

My soul is no longer at peace (and y...

Anticlimactic

I know I traded something

A part of me

For the splendid splendour of money

I did that thing you shouldn’t do

I gave myself to him

You know, the soul

Cut a piece of myself out for him

You know, the heart

I cut a piece of myself off for him

(You know which part)

But I didn't feel a thing

I'm waiting to miss it

Miss this

Thing

I'm waiting for the pain

You...

Wondering

I wonder now what sin is worse

As we destroy this fragile earth

Who should we condemn the most? Who curse?

The careless or he who cares not for its worth?

When we misfile our plastic waste

Do we sin more than those who double wrap;

When we buy packaged goods in daily haste

Is it our fault we fall into the plastic trap?

And when we recycle those plastic trays

Wh...

What To Do After You've Participated In A Threesome

The feeling of

having just finished

a threeway

is

non-mapped islands

You are now in a bed

with two naked

bodies

that don't immediately fade

And no one

explains the common courtesy

of getting some food

After performing what's known as an

Eiffel Tower.

We throw ourselves

out to sea

With minimal knowledge

of the breeding grounds of tropical fish
