Birthday Flowers

Harsh words were spoken

A vase was then broken

Their only shared token

Of love

She'd waited for hours

For him to bring flowers

But instead he'd brought

Gardening gloves

This is not what she needs

Yet a packet of seeds

Is her gift

He'd practically bought

Without loving thought

And that was the

Start of their rift
