An Evening
The sensibilities seemed to subside,
Gouged by the glasses and driven out by drink,
Noise rare in the room, for in dreams most would hide,
Of the flood of thoughts that all and none would think
The ice in the cider seemed to shine,
That glimmer glistened in the night,
A sight so seemingly sublime,
A perfect picture of happiness at its height
The teemi...

Surreal
I was at St. Mary's, attending the hymns and prayers,
My friend, now gone. The first funeral I've ever attended,
The readings, Lazarus' rise and the promise made,
Seemingly absurd,
"I am the resurrection and the life,
The one who believes in me will live,
even though they die;
and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
Do you believe this?”
My thoug...

The Night
The laughter was breaking from the bar,
The last verse from the comic's recital read,
As the drinks clinked with the ice,
Formed from what was no longer taken for granted,
And 'Happy The Man' was on everyone's mind
The socially awkward congregated with the butterflies,
And what was on everyone's mind was attended to,
Old and new material was read and opinions v...

Thoughts for a funeral
My suit hangs on the door,
A constant reminder for
Friday's funereal event,
Setting in stone the death of a friend
Now, feeling so upset,
Exasperated and perplexed,
College was but a few years ago,
Now time has drastically slowed
Minutes drag like months on my phone, so strange,
I look at it a few times and neither have changed,
A crash on the...

The Station
The train is delayed by ten minutes,
The rails glisten accoring to the sun overhead,
As the old tickets gust to and fro across the shelter,
Accompanied by old cigarettes.
As together, they lazily lull,
Until they stop, as an announcement is made,
Declaring the next train to arrive at the platform
And everyone's eyes dart upward.
The train resignedly...

Through the window
The cat sat anxiously, mewing atop the folded lid,
The top of a run that once housed a few ginea pigs,
And the heavens' dead and solid grey ran parallel
To the garden's green, chaotic face
That was stemming
Into the flowers,
Through the bushes,
And up into the blossoms
Of the trees that were here before this house
As the window suddenly grew foggy,
...

This Night We Share A Dream
The sleeping waters of the lake, quiet, they dream of the moon,
Reflected captured by their depths,
As tonight, the trees hush to the wind’s gentle tune,
And we see all the ‘fore unseen sights,
And we sculpt and we paint and we write,
As a dreamy awe takes away our breath
And this night we share a dream,
Yes tonight we kiss each other’s worlds,
...
