DAWNLIGHT
The dawn creeps in,
yet I'm lost in night,
Where dreams are shackles,
holding tight.
The world awakens,
yet here I lie,
In shadows deep,
where my hopes sigh.
The sun's warm promise feels so remote,
In this silent room,
where sorrows float.
A mountain steep,
each task, each chore,
Through fog and fear,
what am I waking for?

In the shadows of the bottle's embrace,
Lies a mother lost, in a darkened space,
Helen, her name, a bitter taste,
In memories tainted by the past's disgrace.
Pushed away by her own hand,
A fragile bond, now turned to sand,
Drinking deep to drown the pain,
Yet finding solace in the pouring rain.

A burden too great, to disavow,
