Biography

I have written poetry since I was eleven. Mostly about what I was going through. Had some poetry put up on the wall by teachers. Was part of another poets blog about ten years ago then it changed and wanted money which I did not have at the time. While it lasted, I realised I could do other things. I have written two novels about the Life of Christ. Now I am a kind of manager and songwriter for a band who are just beginning to take off and my poetry/songs get aired. I forgot to add that I'm from Northern Ireland...

Samples

Prayer Words Imbued in me Is You And fortune, Hidden in my heart And Your Heart, Is yours and mine alone. A trickle begins To flow and run Through me; A river, Soon freed, Will leap as I leap. Hidden still And yet to come Is Life that is one And no longer two. Consumed in Fire Breathed in Love. Alone, can I suffer Delight in You. Words are not of this And pale it And lose the essence Of the Flame. PR Writer's Block Inspire Me With the absurd; At least Give Me A word To break the block The burden. Its dark in here Without The pen To crutch And use To write it down. Inspire Me To write In light And about Fern frond With sound And colour To overpaint The dark page I find In my mind. Inspire Me With white And colour me To shout About The things that I believe And then receive The self-praise So that I can raise From this dark pit With the fire lit To write JUST A BIT!

Thanks for appreciating The Death of Sweets, Patrick. Just a minor rant but I avoid those artificial tastes that are concocted in some tainted laboratory !!

The above poem is not meant to be a comment, just a poem that I have put in the wrong place...

The Smile

Skeleton praise
For who I am
And what the pen will say.
I belong;
And belong in a different way.
Inherent,
From the outset,
Curling cold
From tongues that split
In shades
Of blue and ice to form
On lips whose root
Is from the scarred mind.
Oblivious to truth
And scattered liberalism
Flawed,
For freedom is in the freed mind
And not,
The acting out
Of freedom
But,
The journey
From the darkness
Through to Light.
Bitterness,
It seems,
Still reigns in liberated hearts
And packs a punch
In the smile that,
Behind,
Is filled with it.
Freedom,
Real freedom,
Is from the self
And in not the embrace
Of blindness…
