Beyond Trying

Try, try and try again can be oh so trying

Endlessly trying, yet never really achieving

“At least I gave it a go, I tried” is wishy washy

Trying is hardly committing, whatever may be

Trying offers an opt-out clause at some point

“Giving it a try” guaranteed to disappoint

Any road to achievement in life is rarely linear

Which way forward oftentimes a little unclear

Got to keep on keeping on through pro-action

Making decisions, choices, producing reactions

Committed action taken every single day

Carrying right on whatever, the only way

Life experience changed beyond recognition

Trying left behind; living large life’s mission

Thanks for the feedback MC ?

I'm saying direct action towards a goal is a commitment, rather than just trying to do something. And carrying on through with that commitment until the desired result is achieved.

And it was said that Scottish king Robert the Bruce watched a
spider continually trying to achieve some ascendancy and was inspired to go out and win a famous victory.
Sure - trying can be trying but not bothering to pursue an aim is
worse!

The thing is trying has a cost (cost of effort, cost of energy, cost of emotions, cost of time, cost of resources, cost of other things not tried, cost of opinions etc) and admittedly with the odd event driven exception, in general you get what you pay for. Like any other sort of shopping or gambling, the better your research the more probable a good result from the transaction. Imperative trying (all out all expenses) isn't appropriate for every type of need and even then the outcome of the attempt (not just whether it succeeded but how much it ended up costing) still depends entirely on the intelligence of the try.

Great point Dean, But as long as we never give up trying, there will eventually be action. just try something different. Thomas Edison tried over 3000 times before "seeing the light" Thanks again dean, I was waiting. Have a great day. JD.
