On planet earth the new year is welcomed in its 2021

It just arrived meekly and quietly well I’ll be a son of a gun

No jubilant crowds watching fireworks it’s just been done

I just wanted to celebrate and have some annual fun

There’s nowhere to hide now you got me on the run

You truly took me by surprise hello 2021

 

We said our last goodbyes to 2020 farewell ya man

Most folk just put it all behind them it if they can

The Pandemic solution was lockdown a master plan

Around and around in circles and tiers we all ran

Experts they were dazed and confused more than

Mindless politicians absolutely clueless what a sham

 

Statistics on the TV inform us of the daily toll of death

Died for any reason? I’m not holding my breath

We all clap loudly for the NHS who labour under stress

Support workers still on minimum wage and duress

Amazon and corporations alike get richer more or less

Freedom of speech! where’s David Icke what a holy mess

 

 I have a dream and a vision of hope for 2021

That across the kingdom deliverance will come

At the end of the tunnel a healing light for everyone

Hopefully the vaccine rollout will get the job done

We got knocked down but we got up again my son
