Wisdom

 

We live in a world of uncertainties and confusion

tossed about hither and thither

Often not knowing which way to turn

doing what is right and avoiding wrong

Wisdom offers solutions to life's problems

sound advice is readily available

But from where do we find wisdom?

has it a source in the milieu of today's world?

More than ever do we need wisdom

yet seldom is it sought after by the egoists

Many do not wish to be acquainted with wisdom

those who think they know it all and are self made

The Book of Proverbs is an ancient source of wisdom

it merits some consideration and study

Other spiritual works encourage and warn

Treat others as you want to be treated

Money is the root of all evil

Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler

whoever is led astray by them is not wise
