Dreamland
I’m floating on the turquoise sea,
I’m holidaying in Greece.
I’m clambering onto a speedboat
And heading off to Nice.
I’m shown round an ocean liner,
And settling by the pool.
Someone at the bar plays guitar.
I can sing in tune! How cool!
Okay, so this must be a dream,
But I shall not wake up.
I’ll drink Tia Maria and Baileys
In a Pooh Bear cup.
I’ll drink it by the cupful,
But I shall not get drunk.
The guitarist is looking my way,
And hey, he’s quite a hunk!
I think he looks romantic,
We’ll dance tonight in style,
My dress will just materialise,
That will make us smile.
I’m walking into dinner,
Everyone’s staring at me.
Only the guitarist gives a wink,
I’m still in my bikini!
I run out onto the flight deck,
Picked up in a helicopter,
She drops me off in Barbados,
I see why I hadn’t stopped her!
A steel band and a barbecue
On the pure white sands.
The waves look so inviting,
Decision’s out ’my hands.
Oh no, don’t! I’m staying here!
Please, oh please don’t wake me.
Don’t disturb me from floating
In the Caribbean sea.
My dream is disappearing,
Oh, that is such a pain.
But I see it’s only 4 a.m.
So I’ll go off again.
Right then, now where was I?
Ah, looks like I’m back in Greece.
This time I have my clothes on,
So I’m going for a feast.
I’ll choose a great taverna,
Sit and watch the sun sink
Into a blue sea turned red,
A sight to make you blink.
I’ll be joined by my man,
No guitarists tonight!
Though the waiter looks alluring.
Order him? I think I might!
It turns into a good evening,
We end up drinking in a bar,
But now I can hear music
As if from afar.
But no, it’s here in the bedroom,
I must get up soon.
But please, just ten minutes more,
I may fly to the moon…

Really enjoyed this, Lynn. Love all the tweeks to make everything so perfect - materialising dresses & boozing with no hangover - perfect indeed! X
