HYPOCHONDRIA

There'll never be nothing to worry about

always a cause celebre,

I have a list of what's never quite right

to visit on waking in the dead of night,

nothing minor (or so it seems)

a twinge of pain, the stuff of bad dreams.

I avoid the surgical expanation

preferring to savour the manifestation

which recurs in the brain

again and again

with variations on a theme

of torturing discords

and low esteem.

The low esteem is just thrown in

as a sweetener to wallow in

as, by and large, all things equal

I quite look forward to a ghastly sequel.

Thanks Stu and Mark.

I feel better now I've expressed it! I'm glad it had a humorous undertone , otherwise I'd be barmy by now.

Apparently "hyper" means " more than or above I believe
whereas "hypo" means less than . I suppose that means that a hypocrite is less than a non hypocrite. Who know? who cares even?

I don't know if "enjoy" is quite the right word but I did!
A darkly humorous awareness of a common human
condition.
"Recommend whatever treatment you will
Why can't you allow me the right to feel ill?"
