MOTHER NATURE THE FLOWER SELLER
Mother Nature has arrived, the flower seller
taking up her usual pitch.
She lifts the hem of her big flouncy dress
smiling as her bulbs shallow rooted
have burst out
and we are entranced. Her mouth opens:
"These are my beauties, always for hire
little darlings, hearts' desire."
White flowers, yellow flowers,
family likenesses various, gregarious,
and who could resist them in their comely bonnets
bringing forth sighs and sonnets.
Her face clouds over, words begin to form:
"Be quick to take these delightful virgins.
too soon they will resist the airy charms
and go back to the earth and winter's alarms."

very good ray. reminds me of a line from a book i just finished by louis-ferdinand celine;
'outside the kiosk the soda-water lady seemed to be slowly gathering the evening shadows around her skirt'
not sure why but its a great book by a great author so its a compliment!
lots of beauty and wisdom here
