3 poems by Chloe Ramsden (Janet's niece)

My niece was reading some of my poems while on holiday this week and it seems we have another budding poet in the family.

These are her very first attempts so please comment if you wish but no critique. Thankyou. Janet.x

1) Moon.

I am but a moon,

a light which leads the way.

Who am i?

Well what should i say!

I may be a large rock,

some say i smell like a sweaty sock

but either way

i'll be your light in the dark.

2) Star.

What am i?

Well, you tell me i'm just

some light-weight rock.

Nope! you're wrong.

I'll tell you what i am.

I am a guidance in the night sky,

twinkling and glimmering for all to see.

Thankyou for listening to me.

3) Auntie Janet.

Auntie Janet is a psychic kind of girl,

she knows everything you are going to say.

She is funny, loving, kind and jolly,

she is a great auntie to have and play.

She also likes poetry and she is really good,

if you need any help, ask auntie Janet

and i'm sure whatever you need doing

she could.

I wish I'd had an Auntie Janet. Well done Chloe - poetry is wonderful way to express yourself. It is a game that can be played anywhere, any time and will take you through ups and downs of life. Enjoy. x

By example do we lead Janet. Very good Chloe you have made your first leap into poetry so keep on writing. You show great promise.

Hi Chloe

I enjoyed reading these, especially 'Auntie Janet'. I hope you keep writing. You can learn from other people, but the main thing is to enjoy it and keep doing it. If you read your poems again after a few months, you'll probably feel how you want to improve. And it's how you feel that's important. Hope to 'see' you again on WOL
