I have seen

I have seen the tears of broken glass

That cut that through all that is

I have seen little men achieve mighty acts

And mighty men bow before them

Acknowledging all they have not

I have heard of great feats of courage

Defiance and compassionate grace

From those who would blaspheme

And curse

I have seen the haughty and the proud

Lose face break a sweat, drop the ball

Lose the plot and cast doubt upon

None other than themselves

I have seen women rise and speak out

To be heard, noted quoted

Lifted up above the rising tide

Of self- inflated pride

From which I rejoice

But most of all I am ceaselessly

Pleasantly amazed at the selfless acts of love

I have seen

The dove of love perched upon the souls

Of those who search for peace

I have seen all of this

But this is only a beginning

and yet there is more to come

because where there is love

there is hope

Thanks to David Tom and Joanne , Ray and Keith
I nearly didn't post this feeling that it was too emotional but I felt quite a strong reaction to all that has been happening recently and being somebody who is more naturally melancholic, my wife describes as somebody who's glass is always half empty this was quite a departure for me.

Thanks again to all really appreciate you taking the time to read.

Quite a revelation Martin. A plea for the less than obvious outcomes of human behaviour. Uplifting and a joy to read.

very well put Martin and very pertinent in many ways which I am sure was your intention without the need to state the obvious - so much the better for - imo.
