I was going to write
something important
but then I got to thinking
about books and poetry
how many books never opened
how many books left on shelves
how many poems left like orphan cats
upon a doorstep
I was going to write

but instead went down
this dead-end road
delete
as soon as you read this
it wasn't important.
I have shelves full of books I have not yet read. But keep telling myself one day...

Great poem, loved the orphan cats. I hate throwing away
