Nan's Lippy

A bit of light relief.

Nan's Lippy

Nanna she was young at heart,
It's hard to know where to start.
She always was a lively girl,
loved to dance and to whirl.

When she started having trouble with her sight,
she just could not get her lipstick right.
It was everywhere else on her face,
other than her lips where there was no trace.

Eventually one of her eyes they had to remove,
but even that did not stop her groove.

She never grew old in my eyes,
but where she wore her lippy was always a surprise.

Lovely subject that we can all relate to. Worryingly, a friend recently pointed out to me that i had lippy on my teeth. Time to start going bare lipped I think.

Reading the emotions you put into your poems makes me take an honest look at myself and my own words and ask, "Is mine emotional enough?"

Taylor, you brought back memories of my own Granny - she loved lipstick and called herself the painted dolly! Heartwarming and humorous. Thank you. Xx

The great saving grace of humanity has to be sympathetic
laughter we find in -and for - each other's predicaments as we pass through this life.

Nice one Taylor - that made me laugh out loud!

In the last weeks of life my wife's nan, she seemed to eat her lippy, always all over her teeth!

Cheers
