Morning Jane, Im glad my poem on the Taj gave you some idea of what it was like and how I felt on seeing it, thats what I set out to do. It was a truly magical experience and one one that will stay printed on my memory for ever.
Thanks also for your comment on Sunflowers again. Its good when a piece of work makes an impression and is not forgotten.
Cate xx

'Where thicket-thick thighs ache
Across crow- flocked meadows.
Tramping over salt-skinned ditches,
Feet swollen like buds to bursting,'

A wonderful...err...quatrain? 'Salt skinned ditches' is particularly evocative, reminds me of the Suffolk coast.

And thank you for your kind comments on my meagre offering.

: )

Thanks for taking the time to read my little poem and make a comment. I agree it is an enigmatic poem and your interpretation is as good, maybe even better than mine.

Thank you Jane, I'm flattered by the Kipling reference. I don't think I could beat those little apple pies of his though - yum!

Hi Jane, thank you for your positive comments, it means a lot, and there is a happy outcome, I'll post it soon (I'm practising suspense!). I'll also be better equipped for the school run now thanks to you!

Hi Jane, I know I've commented on your use of language and it's effectiveness before but I really enjoyed reading Queen Mary's Rose Garden again just now, so atmospheric and warming on a cold autumnul evening :)

Hi Jane

Just discovered your stuff, which I like, especially Duck-House Parliament. What a fascinating character Cromwell is. It isn't fashionable to speak well of him, but he had remarkable qualities didn't he.

Hi Jane - thanks for commenting upon 'Brand New View' - perhaps that's one Orchid that won't fade :)

I rather enjoyed your distinctive style of apple power too

Best wishes

Hi Jane. I enjoyed reading your work, especially Apple Power. There is a richness of language and sense of history in your poems that is very enjoyable. Also, from your reference to Winter Hill I'm guessing you are from my neck of the woods (Bolton/Wigan)?
