'Saw the reflection' can be both his and hers - an understanding/connection of their souls...
'Felt the connection
As he glanced right through'... Too intense so is afraid to acknowledge the connection...
It was written to be interpreted as either only her perception or a shared perception...

Hi Gus - thanks for commenting on Botany. I didn't really want to say microscope so much as magnifying glass but it didn't fit! I wanted to describe a sort of Victorian botanist identifying the flower. What else could he use? A note pad maybe?

Thank you for your pithy...and entirely appropriate comment upon my latest offering. You don't know exactly why it is so appropriate, but, suffice to say that, due to recent 'surgery' I have a six inch scar....just where the sun don't shine!
Following my first foray into swimming...today...I do indeed, have an exceedingly tight arse.
They tell me it should loosen up soon!!

Gus, many thanks for your kind comment.
How come I have favourable comments from 2 of the most objectionable gits on the site ?(Aikman and Emmerson by the way). I begin to worry.
I read the poem at Sowerby Bridge last night, but was met with a degree of stone-faced hostility from a small female claque. Freda takes it in good part, and knows that it's so obviously tongue in cheek (or is that a bit risque).

Hi Gus
I truly appreciate the comment.
I used it as a kind of verbal dyno-rod. Silly little thought, but sometimes (too often) the brain goes into 'off' mode, and needs a gentle nudge.
I also love!! a vanilla slice

Gus , thank you for your comment on my piece.
I am quite taken aback at the responses to it, I feel that my pain is no more than any other's pain who have suffered through the loss of a loved one.
Some say that 'time' is a great healer, but is it the time that heals? Or do some of us just develop broader shoulders and thicker skins? Or others of us just block it out?
Darren thinks that I shoul change it from the first person to the third person. Would be interesting to know what you think.
'Where do we go from here' really interests me, however I fear that, at this late hour that the analytical blob in my dull grey matter has snuggled up to the nonsense blob and once the two of them get together I spew forth a skip load of twaddle. The concepts of time and place and time and existence fascinate me. I

Hi there,
Thanks for your comments on my recent poem - you're right - no-one is much better than nobody. Appreciate your help.
I'm ok thanks, recovering from a recent op - not the one we discussed, but something that was a little more pressing. Been a bit fed-up, but been greatly helped by some of the lovely people on here!
Hope you're well?

btw - think you should take one of the photo's Darren posted of you on f/b, as your profile pic - you look very good in them!

Ey-up back Gus
Thanks for the comment/suggestions for Life-Line.
I only placed Masturbation where it is as I thought that this is/was when it became a full-time occupation (also because of the Tony Blair Ed; Ed; Ed speech)
Constipation did occur to me but I found it hard to squeeze it in (or out for that matter)
Many other ....ations came to mind after it was written, but I tend to try and keep my 'poems' as they were when they came out of my fingers.
I am humbled by your comments
Thanks again
Steve M.

Thanks for your comments Gus. Yes, I guess if one can believe in the virgin birth, one can also believe it possible for a busy mother to write half decent poetry - I'll have to try harder - now where have I heard that line before???
Where have you been hiding - hope to see you at the Tudor on Thursday or I shall be forced to make the journey to some nasty part of Manchester again.

Gus you are incorrigable, or should that be inflammable? no i was not aware that you are now the possessor of a beard but i am now. I am much relieved that you would not push me into a fire. Obviously you don't know me well enough..give it time and you might..how did you know i drink wine and watch bats? i must have written it somewhere..tis true..i do..i'll be careful to watch out for strange poets blowing agin me on windy nights from now on.

Dear Gus
Just to say thanks for your well-considered comments on my poem. I'm delighted that it appealed to you. My memories of 'I Got You Babe' are slightly hazy. I was only three months old when it came out. I must remind myself of its finer details.
With best regards from New Malden

Thanks for your lovely comments on 'Cramping my Style' Gus and the great advice. I was a bit unsure about whether to include some of the singing parts (particularly the Queen ones) so perhaps didn't sing them with enough gusto. Will try to correct that next time I do it - I do have the lung capacity! LOL

Upon reading 'Where do we go from here' I thought to myself I bet this is good performed on the open mic. It also has a gentle wisdom without lecturing, lyrically persuasive too.
