Alien Feelings

Alien Feelings

Shattered, splinters of midnight

caressing and glancing off skin.

White, frozen beams of moonlight

that spotlight two strangers dancing.

Electric blue, cutting through mist

as a small, fair hand is held near –

then a blinding flash as two lovers kiss

and a slow, gentle, ebbing of fear.

Eyes drawing near, then cutting like lasers

Instar

Flatlined. Red admiral turned cabbage white.

Our bed, once pale open casket creaks a chrysalis,

a steadfast metamorphosis of our gothic love story.

Set apart by vengeful spouses, hindwings skinned.

Living in separate houses, just over ten miles apart.

Beyond the ending in damask suburban banality

the vampire’s parable of a lover’s return fleets transient

Offend a Daily Mail reader - today!

Offend a Daily Mail reader – today!

In our miniscule existences upon this planet Earth

There’s precious few occurrences to occasion us true mirth

So listen up real loudly, those with brains and minds to spare

Who still hang on to plucking out true hope from thinnest air

Here’s the solution, if you’re open to such play

New cars, holidays, gifts, attention worthy of a young peacock

lavish while the leash of trust and compensatory promises

Threatens shorter with any sign of un-toeing the line.

The gin palace closed ...

The Game Of Love

A hundred nights out, a thousand even or more

And yet we meet unknown and unknowing

A hundred bars, a hundred bar maids

A thousand pints of lager

Chit chat and chat up lines unleashed

Smiles flashed, charm dispensed liberally

And all for us to meet, unknowing

Chance, fate, call it what you will

The hidden hand of the universe

Brought us here to meet

The Umpire’s Decision

The Umpire’s Decision
at a Women’s Seniors Tennis Match

Sitting in this chair I see you,

Tension stretching every nerve.

My life’s tea would be much sweeter

With you there, “Miss Mills to serve.”

I remember other summers.

Football king meets tennis queen:

At first sight I lost my heart

To you, Miss Mills, at just “Fifteen, love.”

Playing,...

Deep & Divine

Honey can you tell me, is our sweet lover's moon shining there tonight?

here where I stand across the ocean deep it's soft glow is in full sight,

let it cast a blessing upon our pure loving for the magic of eternity,

for less than that time would be too short for the love you share with me…

In the soothing softness of the moonbeams we can express all our desires,
