MOONRISE
MOONRISE
I see a faint lightness over the black of the hillside.
Stars a million miles overhead lose a slight edge.
Mist dances illuminated by her Moon Goddess.
Clouds high overhead come and go as stars sparkle, iridescent.
Excited I wait, soon she will be here. Patience now…
There! My Moon Goddess lifts my spirits, serene and spiritual.
I drift out of my...

By A River
amidst dewy dawning
and distant lowing
scrambling over
tangled root stone bedding
beneath hillside glowing
from cloud stalked
cold shock
to sun burst warming
flows river umber
running iced tea
tarnished and malty
to this tumble
comes happy dog
snout near rabbit deep
as spooked cottontails peep
from behind mossy log

All The Time In The World
hewn in antiquity of fire and ice
rough fell born in flash and fury hurled
from the high ground fountainhead
set in motion artlessly impelled
downwards tumbling by such attraction
that demands all obey its draw
but my life’s course stretches far beyond
your mortal grasp and moves at a pace
measured in millennia as you count days
I may rest b...

TORRENT
TORRENT
Falling rain the colour of steel, cast down by the wind blown clouds.
Count the drops in the million, a never-ending torrent drowning the land,
better stay indoors or you’re in for a swim.
See it beat upon your window like a madmen with a drum,
the power of nature in all her ragged glory.

Campion
Campion
The campion comes late in May
when golden king cups raise their heads
and all about the tawny carn
a merry May-time madness spreads
as bluebells fade like ghosts away,
and bow their faces to the dust
and hedgerows sing and daisies dance,
and grass leaps up because it must.
It’s then in pink and white and red
that spring-time’s maiden green ...

MISTY WATERS
MISTY WATERS
Water, smooth as a mirror, shiny as death.
I am the lake, the lake is me.
Are you the mist hovering over
my haunted vision and fractured mind?
Lost am I but bemused by your fragile beauty.
Your cold breath on my face telling me I am alive.
Mist taking me away, quick call my Mother. I’m about to drown.
Moon above, face of my unknown lover.

March
Tenderly stepping on the last snow
The first of March is coming.
Spring will release the love arrow,
Beautiful songs of love humming.
The feeling of spring is known to all,
It happens every coming year.
My loving spring has no wall,
Its sounds I can clearly hear.
March is a harbinger of changes.
It smiles happily together with me.
Its gr...
