My Mother, Sister, Brother and I
check into a hotel room. When we
enter the room my Dad who had
passed away almost five years
ago is sitting on the bed. He has
a wide smile on his face.

what you can’t see
cannot hurt you
ghouls and ghosts
things of the dark
things you don’t understand.
close your eyes go to sleep
think of happy things and places
let your mind move on
be at peace child

you know it’s just a branch

late at night
a cold chill that drifts
through a warm house

The Sound of Night
I awoke in a cold sweat,
On that frigid, unholy night,
For He has spoken to me
The Sound of Night,
Though He did not use words,
I understood His might
Bellowed from a place without light.
Echoes of Darkness pulsated,
Surged within my head,
Screams from the Void,
The sound of the Dead!
His message of dread was clear:
"Grip your foes with fear,
Show them their end is...
