Absolute Zero

The girl who iced her emotions. 

Her physical and mental being out of motion. 

 

The coldness within her grew, 

induced by solitude and failure.

 

Causing sadness to flow through her veins, thus only negativity remained. 

 

As her tears fell like snow, weathered by disappointment. 

 

Because everything she once cared for let her down, and people wonder why she carries...

The Truth In Hot Sudden Tears

Out of the blue they appeared

Composure broken, cast adrift

Lately she'd been evading me

My questions got short shrift

 

Nature can only take so much

Secrets discompose its skills

So long we had been at odds

Life an endless battle of wills

 

We had survived enough wars

Love adrift on waves of years

But nothing prepared me for

The truth in hot sudden tears

Shadows Climb In My Cold Room

How I long to sleep tonight
forget these thoughts
and rest
Ease my body free 
of anxiety and worry
but the more I try
the more I fail
I fidget fast, roll in frustration
cursing my debt
and conversations that won't end
Where are those waves of darkness
when will they wash my brain
Where is that tide of sleep
of empty-headedness 
of ignorance
and bliss...
